OUTREACH MINISTRIES

The mission of St. James A.M.E. Church is to worship, serve, and meet the needs of the community through preaching, teaching, and discipleship to help all people in Christ

In addition to the outreach efforts of the Boards and Auxiliaries listed, St. James has held two Block Parties for the community and has given away food and clothing to needy families.

At the Block Parties, families and individuals also had the opportunity for prayer and to give their lives to Christ.  Those who needed Bibles were give Bibles.

Mercy Ministry is just part of what St. James is all about.  The St. James family has partnered with the PEACE Organization (Polk Ecumenical Action Council for Empowerment) in justice ministry.

The purpose of the PEACE Organization is “to build a strong coalition capable of negotiating the interests of our community with a special concern for the involvement and issues of low and moderate income people.”
